Hydrogen-induced fatigue in tribological systems
We examine lubricants for various tribological systems with regard to their tendency to cause hydrogen-induced damage (white edging cracks) and prepare associated risk assessments. Furthermore, we develop concepts together with you and partner institutes to avoid hydrogen-induced damage under tribological stress.

Damage analysis for hydrogen-induced component and material failure
We use metallographic methods to identify damage to your components and materials at microstructural and fractographic levels. We employ comparative mechanical in-situ experiments in a hydrogen atmosphere to identify hydrogen embrittlement and quantify its influence on component failure. We advise you on the development of remedial and optimization measures.
